This weighty, disc-shaped pendant is made with a pierced center, so that our sly scorpion appears to stand inside a shining, golden ring. The "ring" border is deep, and engraved with many fine, overlapping, needle-like lines that give the impression of a sun's rays, beaming off the scorpion. The scorpion itself is beautifully rendered— he is stylized, fluid, and graphic. His arms, legs and tail are polished, while his head and abdomen are recessed and engraved with "segmented" details. The scorpion’s abdomen and the ring border are matte, with a high yellow color that provides additional contrast. The pendant's slim, outer border is polished. It hangs from a fluted bail.

This is a striking and unusual mid twentieth century scorpio pendant— a totally unique ass-kicker, like you (or your favorite scorpio), no-doubt! We love this design, and mark it among our favorite zodiac pieces. Marked 18k for purity (inside a rectangular cartouche).
