with Wirework & Granulation in 18k & 22k Gold

A big, striking, hinged, bypass-style bracelet modeled in 18k and 22k gold by the iconic Greek designer Ilias Lalaounis. This vintage bracelet features a beautifully-sculpted, highly-realistic ram's head that acts as a finial for the bracelet's tapering, serpentine, fully-round shaft. The ram has large, curling horns, and he wears a gentle expression. The bracelet shaft is decorated all-over with a scrolling pattern of 22k gold wire work and granulation that recalls the Etruscan period. This bracelet is meticulously made and beautifully detailed! This is a rare Lalaounis bracelet design— the graceful asymmetry, the grand scale, and the exceptional manufacture make it a stand-out amidst his impressive body of work. This is almost 20 grams heavier than the usual (already luxurious) Lalaounis animal head bracelets.
This bracelet is marked Lalaounis, Greece, 750, 22k, and with the Lalaounis pictorial mark— the plaque that bears these marks is located beneath the ram's head on the underside of the bracelet.
Bracelet measures approx 7 1/4" (it fits an average woman's wrist with some flattering bangle-y play); width is approx 30.6 mm at the widest point of the bypass; shank is 14.6 at the top and tapers to approx 6.3 mm at the base; weight is 85.5 grams (approx 2.75 ounces).
