Vintage Emerald Green Jadeite Jade High Dome Saddle Ring in 14k Gold
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *
An elegant, large-scale, vintage saddle ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, featuring a high-dome, emerald-green, jadeite jade cabochon. This natural jade cabochon is held in a seamless, low-profile bezel— it has been cut on a curve to create the classic saddle shape of the ring, and is set low, so that the cool jade lays against the wearer's skin. This cabochon is large, with a high dome that comes to a very-subtle, rounded peak. The high-dome cabochon, and the ring's "all-color" top view give this traditional saddle-form a unique, almost modernist, profile. This ring is substantially-made and very comfortable— all parts of its setting are smooth and rounded. Marked 14k/585 for purity, and with the maker's monogram.
Jade is one of the toughest gemstones on the planet. It is very resistant to chips and cracks, and was used, historically, to create weapons and tools.
