Mid Century Chatham Emerald Crystal Earrings
* * SOLD * *
A wonderful, unusual pair of vintage earrings, modeled in 14k yellow gold, featuring square slabs of vibrant, uncut, bedding, Chatham emerald crystals. Because these created emeralds are still in their raw form, the vibrant green beds are populated by small, sparkling crystals of various heights! These beautiful Chatham specimens are set in “picture frame” mounts, which are oriented in a diamond shape. The frames are heavily textured with beads of granulation and milgrain. The sides of the frames are open, and crown-like, and the reverse features a hand-pierced, diamond-shaped stay that holds the emerald panels securely in place. These framed crystals dangle below rounded, three-lobed, shell-form posts. These late mid century earrings are especially interesting and are something of a rarity. We don't often find chatham emerald crystals set in earrings. Marked 14k for purity.
