Victorian Wide Coiled Snake Ring with Rose Cut Diamonds
in 18k Gold
$ 6,500.00
* * SOLD * *
A wide, Victorian era, band-style ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose stacked form conjures a snake, coiling around the wearer's finger. This sweet-faced serpent wears a little smile. He has almond-shaped eyes, set with silvery rose cut diamonds. His smooth, solid body wraps the finger four times. This is the loveliest snake we have ever acquired! Its form is ideal— bold, graphic, whimsical, but not overly decorated— and its condition is outstanding! This ring retains the original, time-won, buttery finish we love to see in old gold. It bears a full series of English hallmarks— these reveal that it was assayed in Chester, in the year 1896. The maker's cartouche reads "EW."
