Victorian Phoenix Signet Ring

A wonderful Victorian era signet ring, modeled in 10k rose gold, whose shoulders each feature a beautifully-carved phoenix. These phoenixes are depicted in profile; their mouths are open and their tongues loll, representing the immortal bird's characteristic scream.  Their feathered wings drape along the ring shank. The ring's face is a softened square, and it is engraved with the letters BJ, in curling, period script. This is a weighty ring, and its scale is solidly medium (not dainty and not large). We love the symbolism associated with the phoenix⁠— rebirth, resilience, and the idea of rising from the ashes to reinvent oneself⁠! The carving here is especially charming. High-relief, figural shoulders like these are becoming a rarity.
