A precious, Victorian era, cigar band ring, modeled in 10k rosy yellow gold, whose design centers on three oval plaques, decorated with white and cobalt-blue enamel. These enamels— a cross, an anchor, and a sacred heart— represent the virtues faith, hope, charity. Each symbol is raised in gold, and surrounded by a field of color. Between them (at the crown points of each plaque) balls of granulation function as spacers. The ring's shoulders are embellished with a carved leaf pattern; its shank is decorated with a series of ten dapped beads, with pie-crust borders. We love this ring for its bold, graphic quality, and for its timeless symbolism! These virtues are especially significant today, and needn't be interpreted through a theological lens.
