Victorian Era St. Esprit Swallows & Blossoms Necklace with Coral in 14k Gold
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *
A Victorian-era necklace, with a sweet, serene presence. At its center, a pair of three-dimensional swallows come together to hold a five-petaled, pearl-set flower. An elegant, v-shaped framework of flowers and leaves is built beneath these bird friends, and a pair of jointed flowers attach them, from above, to the necklace's fine cable chain. All of the floral elements are set with natural seed pearls. The necklace is finished with a tear-shaped, angelskin coral drop. This is quite special, with its multi-element construction, precise execution, and charming figures. The birds themselves are beautifully-made and especially charming; their wings are slightly rosy. Marked 14k, and with the maker's cartouche.
