Victorian Compass Rose Folding Orb Locket
with Hearts in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A clever, Victorian era, multi-photo locket, substantially modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose orb-like form is hand-pierced with a series of baroque heart shapes and a central medallion featuring a compass rose. This unusual, unfolding locket is bound by a pair of arms that snap into place, securing the orb— raise and release those arms and the locket opens out like an accordion, revealing six round photo receivers. This magical old locket is entirely hand built— its construction is precise and ingenious! We especially love the compass rose detail, for its perfect “find your way” symbolism, and the little ring of stars that surround it. This locket is equipped with a large, round jump ring. It wears beautifully on long chain, alone or layered with other meaningful pieces. Marked 14k for purity.
