Victorian Era Extra Large Coral Lucky Horseshoe Pendant in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
An extra large, Victorian-era, horseshoe pendant, modeled in 14k rose gold, and set with fourteen, natural, untreated coral beads. These Sardinian corals are medium, earthy, pink-inflected, orange-red— they are channel-set, end-to-end, into the face of this lucky charm. The horseshoe's frame is hand-fabricated from weighty 14k gold sheet, and its "bezel" is finished with a charming, crimped-and-scalloped, piecrust edge. This is bold and graphic, with clean lines— these characteristics, and the manner in which the corals are set, make it quite unusual. It wears beautifully on a long chain, and pairs well with other symbolic pieces.
This was once a brooch— the brooch fitting has been carefully removed, and the bail added.
Measures approx 30 x 37 mm, without bail (about 1 1/2" x 1 1/4"); beads are approx 5 - 5.2 mm long;
Coral appears brighter/redder when light shines directly on it. We represent the color of our corals as accurately as possible, but cannot account for differences in display quality and settings. Please consider the color description alongside the photos.
