Victorian Era Extra Large Coral Lucky Horseshoe Pendant in 14k Gold
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *

An extra large, Victorian-era, horseshoe pendant, modeled in 14k rose gold, and set with fourteen, natural, untreated coral beads. These Sardinian corals are medium, earthy, pink-inflected, orange-red— they are channel-set, end-to-end, into the face of this lucky charm. The horseshoe's frame is hand-fabricated from weighty 14k gold sheet, and its "bezel" is finished with a charming, crimped-and-scalloped, piecrust edge. This is bold and graphic, with clean lines— these characteristics, and the manner in which the corals are set, make it quite unusual. It wears beautifully on a long chain, and pairs well with other symbolic pieces.
This was once a brooch— the brooch fitting has been carefully removed, and the bail added.
