Victorian Era Etruscan Revival Scaled Orbs Drop Earrings in 14k Gold
Poor Mouchette

A charming pair of Victorian-era drop earrings, modeled as half orbs, in 14k yellow gold. These curved faces of these orbs are covered with a delicate pattern of scallops or scales, made with applied, Etruscan-style wirework. A row of tiny granulated beads acts as an equator, dividing the orbs into hemispheres. This decor is exceptionally fine, and the perfect repetition in the design is especially winning. This 14k gold is bloomed to produce a vibrant, matte, high karat effect. Ear wires are French hooks with a c-shaped catch. These are very flattering and easy-wearing.
