Teal Cat's Eye Tourmaline Cladonia Ring
* * SOLD * *
Glowing and vibrant, a highly-saturated, a teal-green tourmaline cabochon sits, nested, inside a thick-walled, organic bezel, which tapers seamlessly into the ring's integral shank. This elegant, oval, tourmaline gem exhibits the rare and beautiful cats eye phenomenon, known as chatoyancy, which gives the stone a two color (light and dark) illusion— it appears to be bisected line of light, that shifts as the stone moves! Tourmaline is known as a balancing stone, so this equally divided effect is especially meaningful, here! This ring is modern and organic— its graceful shape is reminiscent of the beautiful pixie cup lichens (Cladonia asahinae). Metal is 18k yellow gold; it is delicately brushed.
This ring was entirely handcrafted in Portland, OR, by collaborating, independent craftspeople and designers— even the vintage cabochon was sourced locally.
