Sloan & Co. 1930s Miniature Powder Compact Charm with Puff in 14k Gold

A dainty, 1930s powder compact charm, modeled in 14k gold, by the Newark jewelers Sloan & Co. This adorable miniature compact is precisely made, with a cheerful pattern of scalloped concentric circles on the front, and fine, matching, machine engraving on the back. This compact opens to reveal a tiny, sponge powder puff, with a "pom" handle, fashioned from pink embroidery floss. It’s crazy that this little element is still with its partner, after all these years! This old darling is perfect for the make-up obsessed (you know who you are!). We like the clean, delicate statement it makes, worn alone, on a slender chain, but it would also be a wonderful addition to a charm bracelet. Marked 14k for purity, and with the Sloan & Co. lyre.
