Slender Victorian Lucky Charm Bangle with Wishbone & Clover in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A slender, Victorian-era bangle bracelet, modeled in 14k gold, whose face is adorned with two good luck charms— a wishbone and a beautifully hand painted, polychrome enamel clover. A .10 carat old mine cut diamond rests, in claw-like prongs, at the center of this lucky composition. Trios of graduated rope details encircle the gold tube that comprises the bracelet face, where they flank the bracelet's figural centerpiece. One side of this tube is open, and the bracelet opens and closes by pulling the long tail of the bracelet's slender wire in or out of the opening. This function is clever, practical and very clean. This unusual old darling fits an average-sized woman’s wrist.
Bracelet measures approx 7", fully closed; fits a 6 1/2" wrist comfortably; central element measures approx 15.25 x 11.5 mm; heavier top wire measures approx 2.1 mm; slender wire measures approx 1.3 mm. Total length (including hidden interior wire) is approx 8 1/4".
There is a very small amount of enamel loss on the edge of the clover, as is usual for a piece this age. It is not noticeable in wear.
