A mid-twentieth-century bypass ring, modeled in 18k white gold, whose form brings to mind a pair of comets, crossing in flight. These graceful comets have old mine cushion cut heads, and "tails" of old single cut diamonds. The primary diamonds (H-I, VS2-SI1) are held in four prong baskets. The single cuts are held in fishtail mounts, and they graduate in size as they travel down the ring's shoulders. As a rule, bypass rings are very flattering in wear, and this one is no exception. We love the character of the old mine cushion cuts, here— it's their unique shape and character that creates the suggestion of comet-like movement. This ring was made by the renowned San Fransisco jewelers Granat Brothers.
