A challenging modernist ring, created by Poor Mouchette, in 14k yellow gold. This ring features an especially vibrant lapis lazuli gem, that is figured with bright gold flecks and splashes of pyrite. This lapis gem is cut with many large, blocky, irregular facets— it is set in a precisely fabricated bezel that floats atop the ring's broad, flat shank. The ring shank is tapered, to widen at the base. We love this ring for it's bold graphic quality, and for its seemingly magical character— the lapis stands off the hand like a power-stone! We created this ring with our favorite modernist jewels in mind, loving the way such designs re-interpret the idea of "a jewel," blowing the concept up, or paring it down, etc.
This ring is entirely hand-fabricated, it was designed by us and made locally. The lapis was cut by a gifted, independent lapidary artist— it has an extra-fine, high polish.
