Large Victorian Era Pavé Set Turquoise Bombé Ring in 10k Gold & Silver
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *
A wonderful, Victorian era bombé ring, pavé-set with fifty-three natural turquoise cabochons. These variegated, blue-green, turquoise gems are held in place by charming, irregular beads that retain their time-won, blackened patina. The ring's silver head is backed by a 10k rose gold sleeve, and its heavy, half-round shank is also fabricated in 10k rose gold. This ring is an extra-large and weighty example of an iconic style— the turquoise-set ring head covers the wearer's finger, edge-to-edge. We think this reads like a giant berry! It is both comfortable and striking in wear. We especially love the look of the hand-tapped beads, and the evidence of human hands (filework, etc.) throughout.
The turquoise gems are in very good condition; only one peripheral cabochon is chipped.
