Kurt Wayne 1970's Rope Knot Ring
in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A wonderful vintage 1970s ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, by the designer Kurt Wayne. This weighty, figural ring takes the form of a length of rope or heavy string, tied into a casual two-loop knot— the ring is made to look like the rope has been tied around the wearer's finger. This form is realistically communicated, with deep texture that varies where the knot is looser or tighter, loops that seem frozen in mid-flop, and softly unraveling tails. Kurt Wayne was interested in everyday objects, and how they could be used in the world of art. We love this very wearable example of his work, and its playful concept! "Tie a string around your finger so you won't forget!"
