Graphic 1980s Rectangular Matterhorn Pendant in 18k Gold
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *

A bold, graphic, late-vintage pendant, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose rectangular frame holds a modern-feeling likeness of the Matterhorn, the famous pyramidal mountain in the Swiss Alps. This pendant is thoughtfully carved and beautifully finished— its frame and hanging bail are polished, while the mountain's "facets" feature directional textures and a contrasting matte finish. For us, this pendant is evocative of the phrase “Lord, Don’t Move the Mountain,” so it calls to mind Mahalia Jackson's moving version of that song. Perhaps you've visited the Matterhorn, or maybe the idea of overcoming obstacles inspires you. This pendant is easy to wear, and very cool any way you look at it. This is marked 750 for fineness and with a very small, diamond-shaped maker's cartouche.
