Georgian Petit Four OMC Diamond Ring
in 14k Gold & Silver
* * SOLD * *
A sweet Georgian era ring, modeled in 14k gold, whose little old mine cut diamond is held in a raised, sterling silver collet. This domed collet sits at the center of the ring face, which is scalloped in a manner that suggests a flower, or a small pastry. The petals of this pastry flower are deeply patinaed. The body of the silver collet has blackened with time, and its bright, slightly-proud rays stand out in contrast. The ring's slender shank is split at the shoulder, where it joins the ring face. It is decorated with unusual (creaturely or botanical) engraving below the shoulder, and it is reeded at the base. This ring is precisely made with a somewhat rustic flavor, thanks to its age. It's natural patina is especially lovely! Setting is closed-back.
