A striking pair of large, late-vintage, Elizabeth Locke earrings, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose central elements are a pair of blue, venetian-glass sun faces. These faces are smiling, apple-cheeked, and they have a deep, ethereal glow, thanks to the mother of pearl discs that lay behind them. Heavy borders, decorated with chubby, triangular rays, surmount our shining faces, and each halo of rays is further decorated with four white pearls, marking the cardinal directions. These earrings have the either/or omega-style backs this designer is known for: the pierced posts fold down, so the earrings can also be worn as clip-ons, for non-pierced ears.
