Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Three Stone Ring
with Stars in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A very sweet, Edwardian-era, three stone ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose east/west oriented, oval face is set with a faceted blue sapphire and two small rose cut diamonds. Each of these gems is nested in a deeply-carved, eight-pointed, star-shaped seat. The ring’s shapely, carved shoulders call to mind a pair of arrows' fletchings. Its broad, half-round shank tapers slightly toward the base. This old darling is very low profile. It bears a full series of English hallmarks— these reveal that it was made in Chester, in the year 1915. This would make a lovely, sensible, and unique wedding band!
