Diminutive Victorian Lily of the Valley Locket
in 18k Gold with Tri Color Appliqué
* * SOLD * *
A diminutive Victorian era locket, modeled in 18k gold, whose oval face is decorated with applied lily of the valley decor. This decoration consists of four nodding platinum blossoms that hang from a rose gold stem, a pair of green gold leaves that are posted at the base of the flower, and deeply engraved springs of meadow grass that fill out the little scene. This locket is dainty but is deep enough to hold both photographs and a small memento. It opens and closes crisply. The tiny, precise, applied metal-work and the symbolic meanings associated with the lily of the valley flower (purity, grace, and a return to happiness) make it a very special object, indeed, and a fast favorite!
A series of numbers (probably a design code) and the number nine (in Roman numerals) are lightly scratched inside the locket.
