Delicate Georgian Locket Face Ring
in 18k Gold

A delicate Georgian era ring, fabricated in 18k yellow gold, whose domed, crystal face opens to reveal a locket compartment. This locket face is expertly made, with carefully fitted bezels, a tight hinge, and a small thumb catch that makes it easy to open and close. Because the locket's crystal face is domed, whatever lies beneath it (a small photograph, a mantra, a lock of hair) will be magnified. This ring has a featherweight split shank, fashioned from two hand-pulled round wires. The ring is undecorated, but for the finely notched, coil-like texture graved onto the slim bezel of the locket door. Worn hallmarks on the ring's reverse, are as follows— an 18k purity mark, Sweden's three crowns cat's paw mark, and an obscured maker's monogram. This ring is especially ephemeral, and so charming! The pink paper was inside the locket, when we acquired the ring, and we have left it there— it is the color of rhodochrosite.
