Dainty Art Deco OEC Diamond Ring with Violets
by Belais, in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A very sweet Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in 18k white gold, by the well-known jewelers Belais. This ring features a sparkling, .40 carat old European cut diamond (F/G, SI1). Our chunky antique diamond is mounted in an octagonal seat, where it is held in place by eight small beads. The ring's pillowy head is also softly-octagonal, and the diamond-seat "floats" inside it, surrounded by a slim line of negative space, and delicate milgrain. This antique setting is replete with fine floral details— a pair of violets decorate the ring's shoulders, and a procession of smaller flowers cover the ring's tapering shank. An additional pair of violets hide in the ring's openwork gallery. We love this ring for its crisp floral details, and it's soft, somewhat unusual form— it has that quality of seeming simple from afar, only to reveal it's complexity upon close inspection.
