Art Deco Sapphire & OEC Diamond Quatrefoil Cluster Ring
in Platinum
* * SOLD * *
A low-profile, Art Deco era cluster ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gemstone is a deep-blue, earth-mined, old European cut sapphire (approx 1.15 carats). This silky, kashmir-blue sapphire is positioned at the center of the ring's rectangular face, where it's held in a slim milgrained bezel. Four floating, elongated, diamond-set "petals" stretch out from the sapphire, insinuating a flower, while further diamonds, beading, and fine milgrain add sparkle to the spaces between the petals (diamond CTW is approx 1.3 carats). We love the overall shape of this ring— a short rectangle, with elegant peaks at the north and south, and where the petals of its flower would naturally push out, at the perimeter. Also wonderful is the pierced "floating" quality of the petals, which gives this very white, glittery ring a three dimensional quality. This ring is entirely hand fabricated— it features an intricate pierced undergallery, openwork shoulders, and a reeded, pulled-wire shank. This would make an outstanding engagement ring!
