Art Deco Hexagonal Buttoned Up Ring
with Carnelian, Emerald & Diamond in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A wonderful, unusual, Art Deco era ring, modeled in 18k white gold, with a long, hexagonal face, cutwork shoulders, and an ornate floral gallery! This 1920s darling is set with a central, polished, carnelian slab, upon whose earthy-red field a pair of small, old European cut diamonds are mounted in bezels. Two groupings of four vibrant, calibre-set, French-cut emeralds border the central plaque to the east and west, while two groups of five, bead-set, single-cut white diamonds fill out he border to the north and south. Milgrained edges decorate the ring's borders and bezels. Lattice-like pierced details embellish its shoulders, and molded flowers decorate its boxy gallery. We love the unexpected combination of colors here, the bold, geometric blocking of these colors, and the ring's perfectly balanced proportions! This bears a partial 18k mark for purity.
