Big 1980s Persimmon Lantern Earrings
with Amber & Lapis in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A bold, graphic pair of late-vintage earrings, modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose pendant elements are large, plump amber (or copal) beads, that swing back and forth on gold frames. These tong-like frames hang below the earring tops, which are set with pyrite-flecked slabs of bright-blue lapis lazuli. These square tops are also hinged— they tip backward and forward on the frame. Gold end-caps and teardrop-shaped pendants adorn the amber beads, creating the impression of glowing Korean lanterns. These cheerful, artistic earrings are a study in color, texture, and movement— the orange and blue hues are a perfect marriage. Earring backs are omega style. These are exceptionally cool and quite unique!
