1940S OEC Diamond Engagement Ring with Pennant Shoulders in Platinum
* * SOLD * *
A lovely Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a .69 carat old European cut diamond (GIA certified J/VS1). This vibrant, hand cut diamond is mounted in a low-profile basket setting, where four, clover-like, three-lobed prongs hold it securely in place. A pair of smaller, chunky, old-cut diamonds decorate the ring's shoulders, where they are bead-set into pennant-shaped seats. The tapering ring shank is finished with a knife-edge. This engagement ring is quintessentially 1940s— it is substantial, elegant, and unfussy, with striking clean lines. It is accompanied by a GIA diamond certificate and a full appraisal. Marked "10% Irid Plat" for purity.
