with Cloverleaf Prongs in Platinum

A classic late Art Deco engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a .87 carat old European cut diamond (G-H/VS1). This vibrant, hand cut diamond is mounted in a decoratively-pierced basket, where four, three-lobed, clover-like prongs hold it securely in place. A pair of smaller, old, single-cut diamonds decorate the ring's shoulders, where they are held in fishtail prongs. The tapering ring shank is half-round. This engagement ring is quintessentially 1940s— it is substantial, elegant, and unfussy, with striking clean lines. Marked "10% Irid Plat" for purity, and with the maker's cartouche.
