1940s Oak Leaves & Acorns Bloodstone Signet Ring in 10k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A striking, 1940s, bloodstone signet ring, modeled in 10k yellow gold, whose shoulders feature a deeply-carved decor of oak leaves and acorns. This carving is of very fine quality, with expressive lines, subtle variations, and a stippled ground that creates visual depth in the relief. Acorns symbolize growth and potential, while oak leaves stand for strength, endurance and fertility. Remember the old adage: all the wonder in a mighty oak grows from a single acorn. These oak leaves and acorns frame the ring's central, oval, bloodstone gem. This flush, inlaid bloodstone is beautifully figured with prominent, red, swirling forms that stand in contrast to the deep green field they seem to encroach upon! This ring is the classic signet shape, with a low profile, and dramatically tapering shoulders. It is substantially made, and is well suited to all genders.
