1940s 2ct OEC Diamond Engagement Ring Set
with Wedding Band in Platinum
* * SOLD * *
An elegant, 1940s wedding set, modeled in platinum, whose engagement ring features a soulful, 2 carat, old European cut diamond. This lively, hand-cut darling is held in aloft in four, three-lobed prongs and is flanked by trios of smaller diamonds— these supporters are held in fishtail settings across the ring's pitched shoulders. The engagement ring's substantial, knife-edge shank tapers toward the base.
The matching wedding band is, similarly, set with seven, old cut diamonds— it stacks perfectly with its partner, and also has a stylish knife-edge shank. We know to whom this wedding set belonged, so we can date it to precisely 1948. Marked for purity. This is a clean, classic bridal look— the primary diamond has wonderful brilliance and it makes a nice visual impact in wear.
