A wonderful, Victorian era, long guard station chain, modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose lengths of weighty cable chain are punctuated with faceted, kite-shaped Madeira citrines, and natural, silvery freshwater pearls. The citrine gems are a highly saturated "whiskey" orange color— they are mounted in slim, floating bezels, so both sides of the setting are attractive, should the chain flip, in wear. The little pearls that flank the citrine gems are held captive on hand-twisted wires— they have wonderful, slightly-varied organic forms, and highly-lustrous, glowing nacre. This long, antique chain is fitted with a 14k gold dog clip, and it looks great supporting a meaningful pendant or charm. It can also be worn doubled, clipped to itself and arranged in a draping manner— it is long enough to wrap the neck multiple times. We love this rare old chain for its versatility, for its unusual kite-shaped gems, and its elegant (immensely wearable) colorway! The chain itself is especially substantial, with solid, flattened, perfectly-round links. Marked 14k for purity.
