Lapis & Pear Shaped Diamond Toi et Moi Ring
in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A striking contemporary toi et moi ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose gems are a .70 carat, pear-shaped diamond (G/H, VS), and a vibrant, gold-flecked, lapis lazuli cabochon (also pear-shaped). The pyrite figuring in this lapis gem is heavy and especially fine, reading like a splash on one side. The 9 mm diamond has a big presence on the hand; it is sparkling, near-colorless and beautifully cut. These two gems rest in smooth bezels, not touching but slightly overlapping on the vertical plane. A study in contrast and counterbalance, we love this ring for it's marriage of opposites— the soulful, opaque, vibrant-blue lapis standing alongside the sparkling, white diamond! The ring's serpentine shank tapers toward the base. The surface of the metal is finely brushed.
This ring was entirely handcrafted in Portland, OR, by collaborating, independent craftspeople and designers. The diamond is reclaimed and was sourced locally.
This ring can be resized (down to US 5, and up to US 9). Resizing for this ring is complimentary (just leave your desired size in the notes at checkout).
Ring head measures approx 14.5 x 20 mm; lapis measures approx 17.75 x 10.8; diamond measures approx 9.1 x 6.1 mm (carat weight is .70); shank measures approx 3.3 mm at the shoulder and tapers to approx 1.9 mm at the base.
Two souls, united. The body and the mind. The enduring idea that our differences (within one person, or within some union) create a more interesting whole. Paths converging.
