Art Nouveau OMC Cognac Diamond Ring

A striking, Art Nouveau era ring, modeled in 14k gold, whose primary, cognac-colored diamond is flanked, to the north and south, by a pair of long, curling “plumes.” These graceful forms, one curving to the right, and the other to the left, are topped with bezel-set, champagne-colored diamonds. These long, diamond-tipped plumes seem to grow out from the ring's slender shank, to cradle the old mine cut diamond at center, which is bead set into a square seat (oriented on-point). A pair of shorter, curled forms flank the primary diamond, to the SE and NW, completing the composition. All of the ring’s unique, curling elements are flat and ribbon-like, with deeply-engraved wheat details on their broad side-surfaces. The square ring shank tapers toward the base. We love the color and dimensionality of this unusual ring— everything about it sings! It would make a wonderful engagement ring. Marked 585, for purity.
