Art Deco Era Confectionary 1.2 Carat OMC Cushion Cut Engagement Ring in Platinum
* * SOLD * *
An exceptional Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a 1.21 carat old mine cushion cut diamond (I/J, SI1). This lively, hand-cut diamond is held in four pairs of claw-like double prongs, where it's flanked by two pairs of french cut, blue sapphires, that read like dashes astride the light-filled gem. This ring is replete with beautifully-balanced, elegant details— its sculpted head is engraved, on the north and south lobes, with fine, fanning, plume-like details that are repeated on its shoulders. Two pairs of paisley-shaped seats are positioned alongside the ring's sapphire "dashes", and these are each set with a small, old mine cut diamond. It is possible to see these "plume and paisley" elements coming together around the sapphires to suggest a butterfly. The ring's slender, half-round shank tapers toward the base. This is a very special, almost confectionary setting! Marked for purity. This would make a wonderful engagement ring.
This ring can be resized (down to US 5 and up to US 8 1/2). Resizing fo this ring is complimentary.
Ring head measures approx 12.4 mm; primary diamond measures 6.62 x 6.38 x 4.1 mm (exact carat weight is 1.21 carats); accent diamonds (8) measure approx 1.4 mm; diamond CTW is approx 1.32 carats; sapphires (4) measure approx 1.5 mm; rise is approx 7.2 mm; shank measures approx 5 mm at the shoulder and tapers to approx 1.15 mm at the base.
