A mid-twentieth-century modernist ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, by the Danish goldsmith Erik Poul Fenster. This sleek, minimalist design features a large, pyrite-flecked lapis lazuli cabochon, set in a smooth, closed-back bezel. The bezel is held (as if pinched) between the blunt ends of the ring's broad, u-shaped ring shank. These finished ends terminate just below the bezel's edge, so they read as decorative, long, rectangular elements, flanking the lapis cab. All parts of this ring were hand-fabricated by Fenster. It is marked with his makers monogram, EPF, and with 585 for purity. We love this branch of modernism, which is smart, efficient, and minimalist! This example is very cozy on the hand.
