Ilias Lalaounis Dainty Lion Wrap Ring

A vintage wrap ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, by the beloved Greek designer Ilias Lalaounis. This ring takes its design inspiration from the Hellenic period. A lion's head, collared and decorated with gold beads and spirals, connects to the ring's "twisted," open shank, which is capped with his folded tail. We love the beautiful details, here, which are inspired by ancient granulation and wirework; we love our lion's glammy, windblown mane, and his fierce aspect! This ring is smaller in scale than most Lalaounis designs, which makes it very easy to wear. It is marked Greece, 750, A21, and with the Lalaounis pictographic maker's mark.
