An Art Deco era engagement ring, hand-fabricated in platinum, whose primary gem is a vibrant, 1.13 carat old European cut diamond (H/I, VS2). This antique diamond is beautifully cut, with a small table and an open culet that reflects repeatedly in the stone's steep crown facets! It is held aloft in four tab-style prongs, where it is surrounded by myriad delicate, hand-pierced details. The graduating, openwork, sash-like motif that decorates the ring's shoulders transitions into a tighter, scalloped, fish-scale pattern in the ring's gallery, where we also find pairs of triangular, open-work spirals. These pierced elements give the ring a very light, airy appearance, and they are accented with small old cut diamonds that add sparkle to the composition. Classic, engraved folate details decorate the ring's shank. We love the fish-scales, here, and the way the ring's sash-like decor creates the illusion of rouching when viewed from above! This ring is marked Platinum for purity. A light engraving (a partial date) remains inside the shank— it reads "24."
