A pair of Art Deco era diamond stud earrings, modeled in 14k gold and platinum, each featuring a chunky, old European cut diamond. These antique diamonds (I-J, SI1-2) are held in four, stylized, tab-style prongs (platinum) that stand off the earrings' yellow gold base, creating the impression of an "X" or a Maltese cross. The mountings are beautifully hand-engraved and finished with fine milgrained edges— we love the tiny omega symbols on the flared prongs, and the little scallops that run between them! These earrings have threaded posts, and screw backs with stirrups. Small, all-original earrings like these are often lost to time— that makes surviving pairs extra special!
These OEC diamonds are well-matched, but they have slightly different faceting patterns— this is not apparent in wear.
