An Art Deco era hexagonal halo ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a 1/3 carat transitional cut diamond (G-H, VS). This ring has an elegant, oft-imitated, iconic form— its bezel-set diamond floats at center, surrounded by a border of French cut, blue sapphires, that are calibre set into their own milgrained channel. Its diamond-set shoulders are decoratively pierced in the manner of epaulettes, and its undergallery features a filigree pattern of curling hearts. These openwork details were carefully pierced, by hand, with a very fine jewelers saw— to the naked eye they look impossibly intricate and perfect, but evidence of the maker's craft is revealed under magnification. We love this ring for its balance of strong lines and delicate details! It would make an outstanding engagement ring.
We have left this unpolished, to preserve the time-won character of the platinum's surface. Please leave a message in the notes field at checkout, if you would prefer this ring polished to a high shine.
