Vintage Modernist Diamond-Set Water Lily Ring in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A mid 20th century modernist’s vision of a water lily (nymphaea), whose anthers are prong set, brilliant cut, white diamonds. The blossom interior is heavily blackened, so that these diamonds appear to float aloft in the matte blackness of the bloom. The backsides of the lily's petals are carefully textured, and the ring shank is textured, to mirror this effect, but only on the top and bottom faces. The interior and exterior of the ring shank are polished smooth. A study is contrasts. Metal is 14k yellow gold. This ring has wonderful dimensionality and its black-and-gold color scheme make it easy to pair with other jewels.
