Vintage Mexican Lovebird Earrings in Sterling Silver
* * SOLD * *
A vintage pair of sterling silver earrings, designed by Elena Solow, to reflect traditional Mexican style, and featuring a romantic lovebirds motif. These earrings are highly kinetic, with lots of swinging movement. Suspended from the pair of kissing lovebirds and the voluptuous flower they perch upon, there swings an open tear-shaped drop, and within that drop, a long, hollowform torpedo. Small, dangling silver conchos add even more movement to the composition. These earrings are what some might refer to as "Frida style," because they resemble the traditional jewelry worn by the artist Frida Kalho. They are large and especially striking in wear. Filigree wirework, and other contrasting textural details abound. Marked Mex 925. Earwires are shepherd's hooks.
