Victorian Revival Diamond Crowned Snake Wrap Ring in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A highly-detailed, early 20th century, Victorian revival snake ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold (bypass style) to wrap the finger. This weighty, sinuous darling wears a peaceful expression, and her body is decorated with a striking pattern of flower-like scales. Our snake friend is crowned with a deeply-graved, diamond-set star; her face and tail are also ornately carved and both lay against the finger in graceful meandering curves. Marked 14k for purity. This thoughtful animal has ideas about the universe.
Comfortably fits US 6 1/2 - 7 1/2. This ring cannot be resized, but it is somewhat flexible because of the wrap style.
Ring face measures approx 7 mm x 6.3 mm (at the widest point); shank measures approx 4.65 mm at the widest point and tapers to approx 2.3 mm at the narrowest point; brilliant cut diamond measures approx 1.5 mm (1-2 points).
Because of the way this ring was made, its shank is not, and will never be, perfectly "in round." The shank's off-round form makes it possible for the head and tail of the snake to lay correctly (flat) and beautifully on the finger. Please be aware of this and understand that it is part of the original manufacture and cannot be corrected without disturbing the flattering fit.
