Victorian Garnet Beast Ring in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
An antique ring, intricately modeled as a pair of lion's paws. The beast's fur is rendered in fine, wavy detail, and its fingers come together around an especially pretty, pinkish-wine-colored garnet. The gemstone is held in place by the lion's eight claws. This is a striking and unusual setting— while you might occasionally find period examples of lion paw fobs or medals, I have not seen another ring quite like this one. It is solid, with a broad tapering profile— suitable for both men and women. Marked by the goldsmith, with a sans-serif M flanked by two stars.
Excellent. This garnet has been newly recut to crisp its facets.
