A wonderful, Victorian era, five-band harem ring, modeled in 14k rose gold, and set with a handful of natural turquoise cabochons. These vibrant turquoise gems vary in color, on the blue to blue-green spectrum— they are subtly variegated and lightly included with matrix. Each little turquoise gem is mounted in a tulip-like, four-prong setting, and these settings (which perch atop the face of each band) are arranged to create a diamond shape, when the ring is closed in wear. This ring’s five flat bands are decorated with deeply-engraved hashes that catch the light. The bands are connected by a hand-built, riveted hinge, so they fan apart. This is a rare and ephemeral old jewel. All of the turquoise gems are original to the ring, and the overall condition is excellent. Marked 14k for purity.
