Victorian Era Buff Top Amethyst Ring with Seed Pearl Halo in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A soulful, Victorian era halo ring, modeled in 14k rose gold, whose principal gem is a cushion-shaped, buff-top amethyst. This vibrant purple amethyst is surrounded by a bevy of iridescent, prong-set, seed pearls. Halo rings from this period are always among our favorite pieces, and this ring's buff-top gemstone, with its faceted pavilion and domed top, reflects the light in a way that makes this example especially magical. The ring's slender, half-round shank tapers from the shoulder. Marked 14k for fineness, inside a fish-shaped cartouche. The maker is E.W. Reynolds Co, a small California jeweler whose business was founded in 1888.
