Victorian Agatized Mammoth Bone Gold Nugget Ring in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
An antique, Victorian-era ring, featuring a bifurcated, agatized mammoth bone cabochon, in a long oval shape. This unusual gem is opaque white (with interesting vascular texture) on one side, and warm, translucent brown on the other— a fine, dark vein runs through the middle of the stone, where the materials naturally meet. This cabochon is bezel set and surround by a halo of carefully placed, high-color, natural gold nuggets. The ring shank is split at the shoulders, where it is decorated with little curls. The ring shank is 14k rose gold. I love the way these tiny nuggets are laid around the bezel, precisely, like perfect cobblestones.
