Victorian 10k Gold Pink & Green Moss Agate Necklace
* * SOLD * *
A rare and wonderful late-Victorian moss agate specimen necklace. This lozenge-shaped agate cabochon is full of pastel green and pink moss-like inclusions that appear to be suspended in a water clear pool. Though heavily included, all of the 'moss' is distinct from the chalcedony field— these fine, tangled inclusions have crisp definition, and wonderful variations in color. The truly pink color of the 'moss' makes this stone a very unusual find.
The stone is set in a thick-walled, 10k rosy-yellow-gold bezel. I have suspended it from a length of Victorian-era, gold-filled cable chain, to perfectly match the color of the old gold. Pendant bails are hidden behind the stone. Closure is a lobster clasp. All connections are closed for security.
Agate pendant measures 39.5 mm x 15.6 mm. Chain measure 9" long on each side; wears like an 18" chain.
