Retro Victorian Rose of Sharon Slide Necklace with Tassels & Diamonds in 14k Gold

A dramatic, retro-era slide necklace, made in high-color 14k yellow gold, to reflect Victorian tastes. This necklace features a large, ornate slide that is set with a carved amethyst gem. This style of gilded intaglio carving was very popular around the turn of the 20th century, and these flower designs are referred to as "rose of sharon." This rose of sharon gemstone is central to its slide; it is held in a crown setting and is further "crowned" with white diamonds. The scroll-like sides of the weighty slide function as a sort of tunnel for the necklace's heavy rope chain, which moves through them, allowing the wearer to style the necklace long, at mid-length, or with the slide worn at the throat. The ends of the chain are finished with lush foxtail tassels, that match the pendant tassel at the base of the slide. The slide function works perfectly. This necklace slips on over the head and adjusts, as described; there is no clasp. Describing this necklace feels like writing a book, there are so many details to mention— check out the incredibly beautiful floral details on the backside of the slide!
Slide measures approx 29.5 x 29.5 mm; amethyst measures approx 18 x 13 mm; diamonds measure approx 3 mm, each; tassles measure approx 33.5 mm long, each. Length is adjustable.
